Spanish government announced the allocation of a million to subsidize public transportation in the province of Malaga
On June 10, 2025, the Spanish government announced the allocation of €4.3 million to subsidize public transportation in the province of Malaga, including cities such as Malaga, Marbella, Torremolinos, Fuengirola, Benalmadena, and Rincon de la Victoria. These funds will be used to reduce ticket prices by at least 50%.
Additionally, another €20 million will be directed towards improving the Andalusian metro system. The total investment in social transportation across Spain has already exceeded €309 million.
A representative of the Malaga authorities emphasized that this initiative aims to create environmentally friendly and accessible mobility, which is especially important for students, the elderly, and those in need.
