Shared prosperity between Gibraltar and the region by the Commonwealth
The historic agreement between Spain, the United Kingdom and the European Union on Gibraltar has left a positive impression on the Commonwealth of Municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar, where they express satisfaction with the progress towards the treaty that directly affects the future of the region and show ” confidence ” in shared prosperity.
From the presidency of the Commonwealth, Pérez Custodio congratulated the negotiating teams for the “effort and work” they have put in over the years, highlighting the importance of reaching a point of understanding that respects the commitments of all parties involved. “This achievement helps dispel the uncertainty that has weighed on the Campo de Gibraltar region for too long,” he stated.
The agreement, which paves the way for the creation of a zone of shared prosperity between Gibraltar and Campo de Gibraltar, is seen by the Commonwealth as a key step toward improving the region’s socioeconomic situation.
