King of Morocco pardons 1,526 people on the occasion of the Eid al-Adha holiday.
King Mohammed VI of Morocco pardoned 1,526 convicted individuals in honor of the Eid al-Adha holiday.
🔶 Among those pardoned, 1,305 individuals are currently incarcerated and will receive either a full or partial reduction of their sentences. Specifically, the remaining sentences of 72 inmates have been completely annulled, while 1,229 others have had their sentences reduced. Additionally, four life sentences have been replaced with fixed-term sentences.
This measure is part of the tradition of showing mercy by the king on the occasion of significant religious holidays.
